Our Human Resources Department is currently accepting applications for the Compliance Technician position. Reporting to the Compliance Supervisor, the Compliance Technician will assist the Department in maintaining compliance with all policies and regulations.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Successful completion of post-secondary education in Environmental Science with 2-3 years relevant work experience in related systems
  • Minimum OIT licence with progression over a reasonable period of time towards the Ontario Ministry of the Environment Certificates of Competency in the following:

o Class III Water Treatment, Class II Water Distribution
o Class II Wastewater Treatment, Class II Wastewater Collection

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
  • Superior report writing skills with the ability to keep clear and detailed records with a high level of accuracy and careful attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills with the ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and good judgment at all times
  • Knowledge of Environmental Laws, regulations and other related legislations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, SCADA systems and other related operating database applications
  • Valid ‘G’ Driver’s Licence

The current rate of pay for this position is $29.58 to $30.97 per hour, as per Band 10 of CUPE Local 2275’s Collective Agreement.  Further compensation is provided for increased licensing levels.
